We've been in Durango Colorado since 6/25. The first couple of weeks were really hot. A dry heat so it was better than Austin humidity (not to mention record breaking rains for weeks in Austin) but still hotter than we had wanted.
We have been in a small family owned RV park that is adjacent to Ute reservation land. The back of the land butts up to a cliff that overlooks the valley and mountains across the way. It has been lovely, especailly at sunset. Most nights, we walk out to a point of land less than 5 minutes from the RV on the edge of the cliff. We have never seen anyone else there which is amazing. There is a wonderful breeze, few if any bugs, and you can see for miles. I have taken a number of sunset pictures and included one or two below.
We have walked on the reservation land many times. Very peaceful. If it amazing to walk from the grass of the RV park just a few steps and the temperature changes significantly as you walk onto the reservation. Spririt? Magic? Our imaginations? Who knows but it feels wonderful!
Sasha loves her walks. We walk at least 30 minutes most days. Sometimes much longer. Lots of smells for her. Sometimes she will see a horned toad, jack rabbit, or other critter. Her nose is to the ground checking out the sent as she walks.
