In 10 years of building websites at Site Street, we've taken several paths to success. In the first 5 years, Site Street was a small one-man operation building just a handful of sites each year. The data center was opened just in year 2 but was really only capable of handling very small, low-traffic sites. In year 6, Site Street started growing, taking on more new clients than ever before and growing by double and triple in the years following.
However, in 2005 tragedy struck and changed the way I was personally able to focus on this business. What followed was 2 years of continued growth but serious struggles in both the quality of the work produced and the level of service I was able to provide. Employees were added, contractors found, but nothing was able to replace my expertise and skills in both development and service.
So now, in mid-2007, I've scaled back. Most of the development staff has left and Site Street is streamlined once again to provide stellar customer service to a select group of clientèle. It means that we will not be able to produce the 10-15 websites per month we had been able to do... but the sites we do build will be unbelievable, with far more thought and strategy behind them. We can still help the small-client through our partnerships with local designers... but Site Street's focus will be on building strong online brands and helping companies grow their vision through online marketing and operations. I'm excited to be taking this new direction and being able to get back to my roots of unparalleled website services.
