As of June 2, 2005, Site Street is #1 for some top keywords on the major search engines:
Besides those, we're on Page 1 for a handful of others. It's both a testiment to the quality of our website design and development but especially to the quality of our search engine optimization process. I'm really very excited to see us rocket up the search engine charts.
It also proves something about the search engine process. It is really a different animal than web design and development. I used to always say (and still believe) that you're either a good designer or a good developer, but never both. This is why Site Street outsources all of the design work... so you get the best of both worlds. But I think I'm going to have to amend that statement to include search engine optimization.
Before I hired Buster in March, I was trying to do SEO all on my own. Big mistake... I may be a talented web developer and skilled in marketing and business, but I'm not an optimizer. I've hired the best optimizer around. Now, from a single source, you can get the best of development and optimization.
You may ask why I don't go one step further and bring design in-house. That is a simple answer... whereas development and optimization is almost always a "yes it works"/"no it doesn't work" scenario, design is different. Design is emotional... design is subjective. The design that one person loves, another will hate. I have the ability to bring in the right designer for the right client, both from a style and a cost perspective. At the end of the day, there is no other firm around providing as good or better web services than Site Street.
